New from 2027: Advanced Modules Replace GEP
MOE announced in March 2026 that the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) will be replaced by Advanced Modules from 2027. These 15 primary schools have been selected as centres where students attend after-school stretch programmes in Math, Science, and English while staying enrolled in their home school.

These 15 primary schools are designated Advanced Module centres, replacing the 9 GEP schools. Students from any primary school can attend stretch lessons here while remaining at their home school.

About Advanced Modules
What are Advanced Modules?
Advanced Modules are MOE's replacement for the Gifted Education Programme (GEP), starting from 2027. Unlike GEP, where students transferred to one of 9 designated schools full-time, Advanced Modules let students stay enrolled at their home school and attend after-school stretch programmes at the nearest centre.
The programme covers Mathematics, Science, and English Language. Students are identified through a selection process similar to the former GEP screening but with a wider intake. The 15 centres are spread across Singapore to ensure geographic equity — a key reason for replacing the old GEP model, whose 9 schools were concentrated in central and southern areas.
This means more students from estates like Woodlands, Yishun, Punggol, Sengkang, and Jurong West now have a centre nearby, without needing to travel across the island or leave their friends and community.
