Common questions
Nursery in Singapore — what parents ask.
What ages are Nursery 1 (N1) and Nursery 2 (N2)?
N1 is usually for children turning 3 to 4 years old, and N2 for children turning 4 to 5. After N2, children move on to Kindergarten 1 (K1).
What is the difference between nursery and kindergarten?
Nursery (N1 and N2) is for younger children, around 3 to 5 years. Kindergarten (K1 and K2) is the two years before Primary 1, for children around 5 to 6. Many centres run both; MOE Kindergartens run K1 and K2 only.
