For Parents
What this means for Sengkang parents.
Sengkang is one of the fortunate areas with its own Advanced Module centre at Palm View Primary School. This means students identified for the programme can attend stretch lessons in Mathematics, Science, and English without travelling far from home.
Under the old GEP system, Sengkang students would have had to transfer to one of 9 designated schools, most clustered in central and southern Singapore. The new system keeps students at their home school and brings the enrichment to them.
The Advanced Modules programme replaces the GEP from 2027, covering Mathematics, Science, and English Language. Students are selected at Primary 3 and attend sessions at the nearest centre while continuing all other classes at their regular school.
