MOE School Calendar 2024Term Dates, Holidays & Exams
2024 is done, kept here for reference. It ran 12 public holidays, and four of them landed on a Wednesday — Hari Raya Puasa on 10 April, Labour Day on 1 May, Vesak Day on 22 May and Christmas Day on 25 December. A midweek holiday is the least useful kind: no long weekend unless you spend leave on both sides.
The good ones were New Year's Day on a Monday, Good Friday on 29 March, Hari Raya Haji on Monday 17 June and National Day on Friday 9 August. Chinese New Year fell on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 February, so Monday 12 February was given in lieu.
The school year ran from 2 January to 15 November, with the long June break from 25 May to 23 June.

A public holiday falling on a Sunday is followed by a day in lieu on the Monday. One falling on a Saturday does not carry a day in lieu.
