In pillar rank the biggest moves were Teaching (60th to 46th) and Research Quality (40th to 27th). Industry has the best pillar rank (18th, from 17th) and International Outlook the lowest (56th). The NTU release says the largest gains were in “teaching reputation and research reputation”, and THE's results article says NTU's advance was “driven by strong increases in reputation.” Reputation scores are not shown separately on the public table, so we cannot break the pillar scores down further.

A detail worth noticing

The NTU release says the university improved “following improvements in all the ranking’s performance indicators” and, in the next paragraph, that it kept its “full score for industry knowledge transfer.” The THE table is consistent with the second statement: Industry is 100.0 in 2026 and 100.0 in 2027.

How NTU's THE rank compares with NUS

On the same 2027 table NTU is 28th and NUS 15th; NUS was 17th and NTU =31 a year ago. NTU scores higher than NUS on Research Quality (95.6 vs 95.4) and International Outlook (93.9 vs 93.3), level on Industry (100.0 vs 100.0), and lower on Teaching (69.4 vs 80.9) and Research Environment (82.2 vs 95.3). What the THE result means for a Singapore student

THE's table does not change how admission to NTU works; entry is decided by your results and the course-specific requirements. Use the A-Level university admission calculator to see where your results fit.

What the table shows is NTU's profile on THE's measures; the pillar section above has the scores and pillar ranks. THE ranks whole institutions, so it cannot tell you how strong one programme is.
