What is ELR2B2?
ELR2B2 stands for English, L1R2B2 — your English grade plus your 2 most relevant subjects and 2 best remaining subjects. This is the aggregate score used for most polytechnic courses. Lower score = better. The minimum is 4 (all A1s) and maximum is 26.
What is COP (Cut-Off Point)?
The COP is the ELR2B2 aggregate score of the last student admitted to a course in the previous year's JAE exercise. If a course has COP 12, the last admitted student had an aggregate of 12. COP changes yearly based on demand and cohort strength.
JAE vs EAE — Two Paths In
JAE (Joint Admissions Exercise) uses your O-Level results. Apply after receiving results in January. EAE (Early Admissions Exercise) lets you apply based on aptitude and interest before O-Levels, typically in June-August. About 30% of poly places are filled through EAE.
Can I Transfer Between Polys?
Transfers between polytechnics are generally not allowed. However, you can apply to switch courses within the same polytechnic after your first semester, subject to vacancy and GPA. Choose wisely during JAE — your first choice matters.
