About Autonomous Schools
What are autonomous schools?
Autonomous schools are government or government-aided schools that have been granted greater flexibility by MOE in recognition of their consistent track record of strong academic performance and holistic education. They can design enrichment programmes, hire additional staff and manage resources more independently.
Unlike independent schools, autonomous schools charge standard MOE fees. The autonomous status allows schools to offer niche programmes, enhanced academic tracks and deeper co-curricular experiences while remaining accessible to all students through the national posting system.
