✍️ Paper 1: 作文 Composition (40 marks, 25%)

Paper 1 tests your Chinese writing ability. You have 50 minutes to write a composition. You may choose between a picture composition (看图作文) or a topic composition (命题作文).

📖 Paper 2: 阅读理解 Reading Comprehension (54 marks, 34%)

Paper 2 is the biggest and most important paper. With 54 marks and 34% weightage, it has the most impact on your grade. You have 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete language use and comprehension sections.

Paper 2 carries 34% of the total weightage. It tests grammar (语法), vocabulary (词语), and reading comprehension (阅读理解). Even a small improvement here can significantly boost your overall grade.

🎧 Paper 3: 听力理解 Listening (26 marks, 16%)

Paper 3 tests your ability to understand spoken Chinese. You will listen to recordings and answer MCQ and fill-in-the-blank questions. The test lasts about 35 minutes. Pay attention to key words and take quick notes.

🗣️ Paper 4: 口试 Oral (40 marks, 25%)

Paper 4 has three parts: reading aloud (朗读), picture discussion (看图说话), and conversation (会话). Combined with composition, oral skills make up 50% of your total grade, so practise speaking Chinese daily.
