A-Level 2026 Exam Schedule and Timetable - SGSchoolKaki

The GCE A-Level 2026 exams span 181 exam sessions from 2 June to 27 November 2026. Like the O-Level, the A-Level calendar is split into two distinct phases: mid-year language papers (June–July) and the main November exams covering the full H1, H2, and H3 syllabus.

This guide breaks down every phase of the A-Level 2026 timetable so JC2 students can plan their revision effectively. Whether you're sitting for General Paper, H2 Mathematics, Sciences, or Humanities, you'll find all the key dates, paper structures, and study timeline recommendations here.

General Paper (GP) — The First Major Paper

GP kicks off the November main exams. Paper 1 (Essay) is on 2 November (08:00–09:30, 90 min), and Paper 2 (Comprehension) is on 4 November (08:00–09:30, 90 min). As a compulsory H1 subject, every A-Level student sits for GP.

H1 vs H2 vs H3: Paper Levels Explained

The Singapore A-Level system uses three tiers of subject depth. Understanding the differences helps you plan your study time and know what to expect on exam day.

H1Higher 1

Covers half the depth of H2. Taken as a contrasting subject outside your main discipline. GP and Project Work (PW) are H1 subjects all students take.

Examples: GP, H1 Math, H1 Economics, H1 History

H2Higher 2

The main A-Level standard. Most students take 3-4 H2 subjects. These form the core of your university admission profile (UAS/rank points).

Examples: H2 Math, H2 Physics, H2 Chemistry, H2 Economics

H3Higher 3

University-level extension module for top students. Requires strong performance in the corresponding H2 subject. Graded separately (Distinction, Merit, Pass, Ungraded).

Examples: H3 Math, H3 Physics, H3 Chemistry (MOE-UCLES/NUS/NTU)

How Paper Numbering Works

Each A-Level subject has a unique 4-digit code (e.g., 8881 for H1 GP, 9758 for H2 Mathematics). Papers are numbered sequentially — Paper 1, Paper 2, etc. For H2 Sciences, the practical exam is a separate component scheduled in October.

8881 — H1 General Paper9758 — H2 Mathematics9749 — H2 Physics9729 — H2 Chemistry
